Chef Sunyalit "Earth" Suwatluckul, originally from Thailand, has spent over 17 years honing his expertise within esteemed Thai and Japanese kitchens. Growing up in an immigrant family, he began working in the hospitality industry at a young age to support his family, a journey that not only fueled his work ethic but also ignited his passion for gastronomy. His love for food led him to explore diverse culinary landscapes in his spare time.

In 2020, Chef Earth launched White Elephant, a modern Thai restaurant, during one of the most challenging periods for businesses. Despite the challenges, the restaurant quickly garnered acclaim for its bold, flavorful approach to Thai cuisine. This success paved way to a second location in Downtown Los Angeles in 2022.

With the new location, Chef Earth has expanded the concept of White Elephant, adding layers of complexity and refinement while staying true to the essence of Thai cuisine. White Elephant continues to present a modern interpretation of Thai gastronomy, harmonizing classic staples with innovative creations. Through à la minute preparations and unconventional approaches, each dish artfully balances bold flavor profiles and exquisite textures while remaining both approachable and elegantly sophisticated.

Though White Elephant is still in its early stages, Chef Earth’s vision remains focused on culinary excellence, constantly evolving the menu while nurturing a supportive environment for his team. With the introduction of Prik Nam Mun, he extends his culinary philosophy beyond the restaurant, offering curated everyday pantry essentials that brings the same level of quality and creativity to your home.
